You'll start to see growth within just 3 days of planting. When it comes to planting these plants, it's crucial to have at least 30% sand mixed into the soil.
When it comes to strawberry plants, there are three key things to keep in mind. Firstly, the soil should be mixed with at least 30% sand and should be well-draining. Without the right amount of sand, the plants won't survive. Plant them on a mound, spacing them six inches apart. I'll send a picture to illustrate this. Secondly, soak the plant in water for an hour before planting, making sure that the crown is positioned above the soil with a small root visible. Finally, for tower planting, ensure at least 30% sand is mixed into the soil thoroughly. Prevent the drainage holes from getting clogged by using stones or a screen mesh, then add mixed soil on top. Pack each layer tightly and create a cone shape that is higher than the hole. Cut the roots to 2.5 inches in length and place them into the cones, making sure a little root is visible.
We hope these planting instructions are helpful, and we're excited to see your beautiful garden come to life. Thank you for choosing our bare root plants!

product_care_instructions | Strawberry Plant Basics Soil: Ideal soil pH is 5.5-6.5. Strawberry plants need well-draining soil. Choose a good quality potting mix that has perlite mixed in. You will then want to add in about 1/3 compost to mix in with your potting soil. This will create a well-draining, nutrient filled soil that your strawberries will love! We recommend to always check your soil's pH. Environment: If your area's daily temp is in the 80s or above you will want to start them in a place that is not in direct sun, such as indoors with a grow light or outdoors on a covered porch. If you are able to start them outdoors right away in the spring then you may place them in your gardening bed or pots, just make sure you mulch them so they may retain moisture when watered., Water: If you are starting them indoors or outside in shade, you may only need to water about twice a week. Once they are outside in full sun, then you will need to adjust your watering to accomadate the direct sun that will cause their soil to dry out at a faster rate. Transplanting Outdoors: Once the plant has grown a few new stems, you may transplant them outside. Usually this will be about two weeks after planting. For the first two days you will want to place them in a shaded area outdoors. These first two days will allow the plant to acclimate to the humidity and temperature of their environment first. And then each day after that you may begin to move them into a little sun and little more each day after that until they are in their permanent home. Be sure to mulch them before starting the transplanting process so their soil may retain the moisture when you water them. | ||||
